And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved
by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored
as whole as the other. Mark 3:5
New King James Version © 1982 Thomas Nelson
Have you ever been so angry you could chew nails and spit out staples? I have. I have a cousin whose father was a very angry man. He wasn’t abusive to his wife and children but he had a very short fuse when it came
to horses. One afternoon I was going horse back riding with my cousin. Her dad
was trying to change the shoes on the horses so that we could ride them along the road.
During this process he accidentally hit his left thumb nail with the hammer because the horse had tried to get his
foot free from trying on his new shoes. My uncle took the hammer and he hit the
horse’s leg causing it to break. The horse had to be put down and my uncle lost more than just his temper that day, he lost
his horse. After that I made it a point to never make my uncle mad. I was fearful of how he may respond if provoked.
When I came across this verse of scripture today I immediately thought about how things
could have been if my uncle would have responded differently to the horse. Our
actions can be long lasting and detrimental when used in the wrong way.
God created our emotions
even our anger. It’s what we do with the anger that creates
sin, not the anger itself. “Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger” Ephesians
4:26Revised Standard Version © 1947, 1952.
If you are struggling with
anger and seeking freedom, I encourage you to take a step today to start the process of finding freedom from whatever keeps
you bound. I know this is not an easy task when it comes to some things especially
if you have allowed your anger to turn into deep seeded bitterness.
A friend of mine shared this article on the
subject and I would like to share it with you.

Finding Freedom
If anger is controlling you, there is only one way to find lasting freedom - by yielding
control of your life to Jesus Christ.
Anger is ultimately a matter of control, we get angry, and our anger drives a wedge between us
and God - keeping us from drawing closer to His love. In our anger we are rejecting God's love
- accusing God of not caring. But God is love (1 John 4:8), and the Bible says His plans for us
are always good (Jer. 29:11)
This
plan begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." God desires that you will live with him forever!
When
you come to God, repenting of your sin, God miraculously gives you new birth that will enable you to walk in His love.
