God's Puppy

Written by: Anita Dost on February 21, 2006

Dedicated to: Merry Leblang, and the 107th Psalm Christian Family Ministry, Inc.

There once was a puppy, born with no tail,

He was missing his fur; he was thin as a rail.

He squeaked when he barked, he walked with a limp,

He was scared of the dark, and he felt like a wimp.

Needless to say, he was down on his luck,

He cried out to God, to change him to a duck.

But God gently whispered, I love you my pup,

I created you special, so hold your chin up.

Yes, you are different, as night is from day,

You see things can’t be made, the same exact way.

I made you unique, for my perfect plan,

To touch other’s lives, like no other dog can.

Sometimes you may suffer, feel weak and unsure,

But never give up, I will help you endure.

Keep your eyes focused on, what I’ve called you to do,

I will heal broken puppies, and I will do it through you.

Trust me sweet puppy, those giants you face,

Will bring others to Jesus, and will win you the race.

Give me your life, and trust in my plan,

I love you dear puppy, you’re in the palm of my hand.
